Born and raised in Peckham, South London, Jay Jay wears many hats, with his focus spanning event curation, DJing, hosting and voguing. Recognised as one of Time Out's 'One to Watch’ and profiled in a two-page feature in British Vogue Nov.2021, Jay Jay is a passionate community activist, dedicated to creating safe spaces and fostering conversations for QPOC and LGBTQ+ individuals.
A key figure and pioneer of the London Ballroom scene for over 10 years, Jay Jay has played a pivotal role in shaping how the UK’s Ballroom community operates. As Overseer of the UK House of Revlon, Overall House father of the Kiki House of Maison Laveaux and founder of the Kiki House of Tea, he stands as a leading authority and built Ballroom culture in the UK and SPAIN.
Passion for music & collaborations
Jay Jay frequently collaborates with prominent LGBTQ+ artists, including Honey Dijon and Years & Years. From leading workshops at Tate Britain and the Southbank Centre to bringing his expertise internationally to collaborate with the Young Vic Theatre and Hetrick Martin Institute in NEW YORK as a creative director.
His passion for dance, voguing, and DJing has seen him travel across the globe, cementing his place as a powerful force in the dance and music world. He has also worked with leading brands, including COACH, G-Star, Marc Jacobs LONDON FASHION WEEK After Party, TOMMY HILFIGER, Nike and NETFLIX.
International DJ: from London to the world
A highly sought-after DJ and Host, Jay Jay’s signature blend of House, Afro House, Classics, and Ballroom beats has taken him across the UK and international festival circuit.
His extensive DJ credits include BBC Radio, Brit Awards - After Party, MADONNA - pre and post tour after party, Sydney - Mardi Gras - Bondi Beach and his iconic BOILEROOM sets. Jay Jay has also performed at iconic venues such as Royal Albert Hall, PACHA - Ibiza, Hoxton Hotel, W hotel, SOHOHOUSE, Fabric, ANNABELS, and the V&A.
